Sammy's 4th Birthday

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. Today is Sammy's 4th birthday. It doesn't even seem possible. And yet, my life without children seems so very distant. Sammy is such a blessing. I can't imagine life without him. He is smart and funny and full of life.

Today has been a great day. We have spent it doing all of Sammy's favorite things. We have played with Legos and Play-Doh. He got to make a finger painting for the first time. He has been asking for finger paints for a month. He spent the entire day in his pajamas, because that is his favorite thing to wear, and we had breakfast for dinner, because breakfast is his favorite meal.

On Saturday we had Sammy's camping birthday party. It was a lot of fun. The kids made visors with bugs and their names on them. They went on a snake hunt in the living room. They looked for rubber snakes with their flashlights. We read stories about camping and sang songs in front of the fireplace. Dinner was hotdogs cut to look like spiders, ribs, and salads. The cake turned out great. It was decorated to look like a campsite. It was a great party. The kids all had fun, and they loved the backpacks I made for them.
